This page covers our enrollment agreements and Policies. You will need agree to these policies to enroll in training.
- Your dog is in good health and free of contagious diseases
- Your dog is up to date on vaccines
- The person training the dog can safely handle it.
- You can hear even if the instructor is 50 feet away
- You're able to walk down a flight of stairs
- If you have a female dog in heat, you may bring her to class she wears doggie panties.
Additional Prerequisites For Group Classes
- For puppy class, you dog meets the age requirements
- Your dog will not bark continuously
- Your dog will not behave in an unfriendly fashion towards people or other dogs
Payment for classes needs received prior to enrolling in class.
Cancellations and refunds:
You are invited to attend a basic class without your prior to enrolling to check for compatibility. In fairness to clients waiting to get into classes, refunds are only provided if we are notified at least 72 hours prior to the class start date. To cancel please call us at 541-603-6868 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. With 72 hours notice, your cost of class will be fully refunded or you can choose to apply it to further training.
After the start date no refund will be given & you forfeit the class or can choose to transfer to private training. Your training is not transferable to another party.
Once you enroll in class work begins on their behalf and will have access to our handouts.
Turning in your application & payment signifies you want to learn our training methods.
Rescheduling private training
You agree to only cancel or reschedule private appointments in the event of an emergency (unforeseen circumstances resulting in a need for immediate action) as openings can rarely be filled resulting in wasted time. Emergency cancellations will be rescheduled. Rescheduling non-emergency cancellations are charged our normal hourly rate. Because a lot of work must be done on your behalf prior to your first appointment, refunds will not be given for any reason.
Class Make-Up Policy
If your dog is sick, come to class without your dog.
If you have to miss a class - If you can’t make it to class you Forfeit that class. You will still be e-mailed all the class material & have phone and e-mail access to your instructor. Under the rare circumstances in which there is an opening in another class teaching the same subject you will be offered a makeup class.
Not all dogs do well in a class with other dogs and people. Dog that bark excessively, snarl, growl, snap, lunge or bite in an unfriendly fashion need to be enrolled in our Changing Dog Emotions training. We understand occasionally an owner is surprised by their dogs reactions in class. If your dog does not meet the class criteria, you agree to transfer to the Changing Emotions program. Refunds will not be granted. Your dog does need training. We just have to get into the training that will meet its needs.
Owners or people handling the dog need to be capable of physically controlling their dog to the point of ensuring safely for all.

Children approved to participate in the training need a parent who is learning along with them. Children under nine years of age must be able to sit quietly on the bench. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The Well-Mannered Dog is an educator of trainers, veterinarians and the public enabling people to be happy with their dog. Submitting your application grants The Well-Mannered Dog permission to use you dog's case history, images of you & your dog for educational and marketing purposes.
Submitting your application, signifies your agree to our Agreement To Hold Harmless, Waiver And Assumption Of Risk waiver
Agreement To Hold Harmless, Waiver And Assumption Of Risk - I understand that attendance of a dog training class is not without risk to myself, members of my family, guests who may attend, or my dog, because some of the dogs to which I will be exposed may be difficult to control and may be the cause of injury even when handled with the greatest amount of care.
I hereby waive and release THE WELL-MANNERED DOG, LLC hereinafter referred to as the Training Organization, its employees, officers, members and agents from any and all liability of any nature, for injury or damage which I or my dog may suffer, including specifically, but not without limitation, any injury or damage resulting from the action of any dog, and I expressly assume the risk of such damage or injury while attending any training session, or any other function, of the Training Organization, or while on the training grounds or the surrounding area thereto.
In consideration of and as inducement to the acceptance of my application for training membership by this Training Organization, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless this Training Organization, its employees, officers, members and agents from any and all claim, or claims by any member of any family or any other person accompanying me to my training session or function to the Training Organization, or while on the grounds or the surrounding area thereto as a result of any action by any dog, including my own.
